Bicycle Coalition Names Michelle Luellen as Education Programs Manager

Luellen brings non-profit leadership, advocacy and regional project expertise 

SAN DIEGO, November 16, 2015 – The San Diego Bike Coalition, an organization that advocates for and protects the rights of all people who ride bicycles, announced Michelle Luellen to become its new education programs manager. Luellen will oversee and implement the Coalition’s education projects, including beginner courses and kid-focused community rides to teach safety and traffic skills as well as neighborhood rides in each of San Diego County’s 18 cities.

“Michelle’s educational background and passion for San Diego to become a safer place for made her a perfect fit for our team,” said Bike Coalition Executive Director Andy Hanshaw. “Her expertise will go far to ensure all people on bikes receive the proper information needed to enjoy San Diego on two wheels.”

Prior to joining the Bike Coalition, Luellen worked with Circulate San Diego as a project coordinator focusing on strategic collaborations and planning efforts specifically with Walk+Bike Carlsbad and Walk This Way Pedestrian Safety Training. With more than ten years of education experience, she has mastered advocacy and leadership within San Diego’s communities and low-income neighborhoods.

Luellen speaks fluent Spanish and has earned certification as a League Cycling Instructor certified to teach League of American Bicyclists curriculum.
