Community Plan Updates
The San Diego planning department is finalizing the community plans for many of the city’s neighborhoods. These plans are crucial to the future of bicycle infrastructure, as they set agendas for what kind of road designs can be built for years to come. If you live in any of these communities, please take a moment to review the plans, give feedback directly to the planning department, and let us know what you think of the proposed bike facilities.

Barrio Logan Community Plan Update: The Barrio Logan Community Plan Update received a recommendation to proceed from the Community Planning Group, the Planning Commission and the Land Use and Housing Committee. The plan will be heard by City Council on December 7th. Review the draft plan here: https://www.planbarrio.org/.
Clairemont Community Plan Update: Staff is currently working on addressing comments on the Draft Community Plan from the Community Planning Group, community stakeholders, and the Planning Commission to prepare a revised draft of the plan. College Area Community Plan Update: On October 27, staff presented different land use variations and concepts to the community for feedback. On December 1, staff presented mobility concepts to the committee. In early 2022, the Planning Department will release an online community survey to gather broad feedback on land use concepts for the community plan update. University Community Plan Update: The October outreach effort, Choose Your Future, was a huge success, with feedback received that reflects the demographic diversity of the community. During the next virtual meeting of the University Community Plan Update Subcommittee (January 18th from 6:00 to 8:00pm), staff will share results of the outreach and proposed land uses for the Community Plan. Hillcrest Focused Plan Amendment: The Uptown Planners Subcommittee will meet on Thursday, December 16 for a presentation and discussion on Land Use and Urban Form within the Plan Hillcrest area that builds upon feedback received at the October meeting. Mira Mesa Community Plan Update: The result of mobility modeling based on community suggestions was presented at the Mira Mesa Community Plan Update Advisory Committee meeting on November 15.
