Available Staff position:
PART TIME BICYCLE ADVOCACY COORDINATOR

The part-time Bicycle Advocacy Coordinator will gain firsthand experience in bicycle non-profit
advocacy in San Diego. Specific tasks will relate to our ongoing advocacy work of improving bicycle
infrastructure and bicycle safety in San Diego County.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Grassroots outreach with local businesses, neighborhood groups, residents, families and
    members to engage them in strategic advocacy campaigns
  • Support our member engagement, which includes assistance with database management and email/phone communication to encourage advocates to attend neighborhood meetings
  • Assist with communications (including emails, blog posts and social media)
  • Research, data collection, presentation of bicycle-related statistics/metrics
  • 20 hours per week commitment

Required skills or abilities:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills in professional/public settings
  • Passion for making the San Diego region a better place for biking
  • Experience in or willingness to learn community outreach
  • Ability to get around the city to attend meetings and do outreach
  • Ability to work on tasks independently
  • Database/CRM management

Desired skills and abilities:

  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
