9th Annual Gordy Shields Memorial Ride

May 1, 2022 @ 8:30 am

A ride in memory & honor of cycling champion and advocate Gordy Shields 1918-2013

In honor of all his work on the Bayshore Bikeway, resurfacing of the Fiesta Island Perimeter Rd. as well as countless hours of advocacy in the name of cycling for our cycling community, please join the San Diego Cyclo-Vets organizers on Sunday, May 1st to honor and celebrate his life. We will be riding from Pepper Park, 3299 Tidelands Avenue near the Gordy Shields bridge in National City.

This is a free, fun, conversational pace 35 mile out and back ride around the Bayshore Bikeway to Coronado, so you can turn around any time if you like. There will be a short advocacy at 8:20 AM.  Be ready to roll at 8:30 AM. Some choose to take the ferry across the bay, bring $7 if you plan to do so. We will help with issues as they may arise, but ask that you arrive with a mechanically sound bicycle and your own equipment to service any issues that could come up.

Free pit stop and ride SWAG will be given out to all participants

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO RIDE
