Nimitz Blvd from Harbor Drive to the San Diego River Trail is a top priority in District 2. This corridor is used for Safe Routes to School, as a tourist and recreational corridor and by commuters. Building a complete and safe bike and pedestrian facility through the 1-8/Sunset Cliffs intersections will provide opportunities for more individuals to ride this corridor.
This corridor has been identified by the SANDAG Early Action Plan (EAP) and the San Diego Bicycle Master Plan and the plans for call for a Class 1 Bikeway along the 2.4 miles with proposed Grade Separation at the 1-8 Nimitz intersection.
