Not comfortable on the road?
Get ready to ride in the city! This class covers general bike safety, emergency maneuver skills, legal rights, and responsibilities. It’s perfect for beginners and equally valuable for experienced cyclists that want to brush up on road rules.
Classes are open to bike riders of all ages. E-bikes welcome! Class content applies to both regular and e-bikes with pedals. The 3-hour class is broken up into 3 parts: lecture, skills drills, and road riding. The road riding portion of this class is about a 4-mile guided bike ride and we take frequent stops to discuss bike infrastructure and riding skills. Class sizes are limited so register now!
This class is for community members ages 12 and up.
Before the class: Make sure your bike is in good working order and ready to ride! Helmets are required and we can provide free helmets by advanced request. This is not a “learn-to-ride” class.
Limited 2 hour parking is available near the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition (SDCBC) office. A Parking Lot is available within a 5 minute walk of the SDCBC office and is located at the Tailgate Park at 13th St. and K St. The cost to park in Tailgate Park is $8 for 12 hours.
