Stephen Vance - Chair
Stephan has been a Bike Coalition board member since 1996 and served on the California Bike Coalition Board for 19 years. He retired from a 36-year career at SANDAG focused on active transportation, including leading major bike projects like the Bayshore Bikeway. He now enjoys bike touring in retirement.

Dorothy “Dorrie” Bruggemann – Vice Chair
Dorrie works in voter outreach and community organizing. After experiencing safer bike infrastructure abroad, she joined SDCBC to advocate for safer cycling in San Diego. She aims to represent young, female, and casual cyclists and also chairs the Membership, Equity + Outreach Committee.

Daniel Gaytan – Treasurer
Daniel is a public policy and advocacy professional from San Diego's South Bay with experience in government and nonprofit sectors.
He aims to use his policy expertise to support the Coalition's mission to make San Diego more bike-friendly.

Virginia Lingham – Secretary
Virginia is a mobility technology leader with nearly 20 years of experience. She bridges research and implementation of emerging transportation technologies and is passionate about creating innovative solutions.

Amanda Peacher
Amanda is a journalist, UCSD instructor, and mom of two. She enjoys long road rides and commuting with her kids by bike. Amanda is passionate about expanding safe, equitable cycling options for all levels of riders.

Carl Weymann
Carl is a retired bike shop owner and former elementary school teacher. He founded SDSU's intercollegiate cycling team and has been a lifelong advocate for biking. He is passionate about giving back to the cycling community through the Coalition.

Derby Pattengill
Derby is a former professional cyclist and longtime PTA leader with advocacy experience at local, state, and federal levels. He works as a substitute teacher and brings valuable community insights to the board.

Gibram Sanchez
Gibram, an urban planner, advocates for equity in transportation planning and policy. He supports the Coalition through fundraising, volunteering, and previously coordinated the Free Bikes 4 Kidz program.

JD Weidman
JD is the Director of Transportation Services at SDSU, managing sustainable transportation programs. He founded a bike valet service and has worked on light rail projects. An avid cyclist and e-bike commuter, JD is passionate about reshaping public spaces through transportation.

Jesse Ramirez
Jesse is the Senior Program Manager for Transportation & Planning at City Heights CDC. He has led multimillion-dollar urban planning projects and worked extensively on community engagement, equity, and policy advocacy to create safer, more inclusive transportation networks.

Katie Matchett
Katie is an urban planner with extensive experience in active transportation advocacy and policy. She has organized impactful community events such as CicloSDias Pacific Beach and Bike Anywhere Day, and she brings expertise in transportation planning and public outreach to the board.

Rosalind Haselbeck
Rosalind is a climate advocate and founder of the nonprofit Dwelling On Carbon, which focuses on carbon sequestration and water conservation. With a background in biology and a black belt in aikido, Rosalind is also an avid cyclist, frequently participating in rides to promote environmental awareness.

Steve Myrick
Steve has cycled across Europe, Australia, and Japan, observing various cycling infrastructures. He believes safe bike infrastructure encourages more cycling and supports the Coalition's mission to improve quality of life through biking.

Myles Pomeroy - Council of Clubs Chair
A retired urban planner, Myles spent 38 years working in San Diego and St. Louis. A regular bike commuter, he rides recreationally and advocates for compact, bike-friendly development to reduce emissions.

Howard La Grange - Bike Walk Alliance
Howard, a cyclist for over 60 years, is the Active Transportation Coordinator for Oceanside. A League Cycling Instructor since 2000, he teaches classes and organizes bike rodeos to promote active transportation.

Laura Keenan - Families for Safe Streets
Laura Keenan is a dedicated advocate for road safety and a leader in the San Diego chapter of Families for Safe Streets. She champions protected bike lanes, safer road designs, and impactful policy changes.
