Smart Cycling Session 1 – Downtown

This classroom session (no on-bike activities) covers bicycling and the law, crashes and how to avoid them, as well as how to drive your bike safely in a variety of road, traffic, and weather conditions day or night. League Certified Instructors have extensive commuting, touring, group and club riding experience. All levels of experience will benefit from this program. 

To earn a certificate from the Smart Cycling Program, which is certified by the League of American Bicyclists, you must also take the Smart Cycling Road Session. There is no listed age limit for participating in this class designed for adults, but for youth under 16, we require that a parent or guardian also register and complete the class.

Note: Limited 2 hour parking is available near the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition (SDCBC) office.  After 8pm the parking is free. A Parking Lot is available within a 5 minute walk of the SDCBC office and is located at the Tailgate Park at 13th St. and K St. The cost to park in Tailgate Park is $8 for 12 hours.
