San Diego Regional Bike Summit – Semi-Annual in the Spring
Expected Attendees: 150+
Support San Diego’s Third Regional Bike Summit hosted by the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition and the Museum of Photographic Arts, Balboa Park. Help us to bring together advocates, local and national leaders for bicycling, elected officials and more to share examples of successful projects, best practices and strategies to improve bicycling everywhere.

Bike Month – Annual event during May
Expected Attendees: 10,000+
Love to Ride is the online platform that gets more people cycling. They support organizations and communities to run 25-day events to encourage, incentivize and reward riding (indoors or outside). They have engaged over 415,000 people and 25,000 workplaces worldwide, helping 73,000 people to get back on their bikes. During out Bike Month Challenge we will give a prize to one lucky rider every week. Sponsors have the opportunity to post announcements to all the participants about upcoming events or information that you’d like to share.

Bike the Bay – Annual event in August
Expected Attendees: 4,000
Join us on the last Sunday in August for a unique opportunity to pedal across the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge! This non-competitive community bike ride is for riders of all abilities and will take you on a scenic, and primarily flat, ride around the San Diego Bay via the Bayshore Bikeway.
Along the way, riders will travel through the surrounding cities of Coronado, Imperial Beach, Chula Vista and National City before finishing back at the start/finish line at Embarcadero Marina Park in downtown San Diego.
All riders will return to San Diego for a post-ride festival with food, beverage, 21+ beer garden and entertainment.
Total miles : 25 miles or 33 miles with gravel loop.
Optional Off-Road Loop through Otay Valley Regional Park – hosted by the San Diego Mountain Biking Association! Mountain bikes, hybrids and gravel bikes recommended for this fairly flat cruise that jumps right off the Bayshore Bikeway at the west end of Main Street in Chula Vista.
CicloSDias – Annual open streets event in the Fall
Expected Attendees: 7000+
CicloSDias is our annual open streets event in San Diego. Modeled after Ciclovia, which first began in Bogotá, Colombia in 1976, our local open streets event rotates between different neighborhoods in San Diego County. San Diegans are invited out to walk, ride, skate and roll around the open streets, experiencing a day of car-free fun. Store fronts spill out onto the sidewalks, local vendors, artists and musicians activate the streets and people from all walks of life explore their community up close.
CicloSDias is held on a Sunday from about 10am-3pm. During that time more than 7000 people come out to enjoy about 3 miles of open streets.

Holiday Joy Ride – Annual event in December
Expected Attendees: 300
The Holiday Joy Ride is the Bike Coalition’s annual holiday event and Golden Gear Award recognition night. The night starts with a light-your-bike ride, followed by a holiday party with drinks, music and more at Panama 66 to celebrate the year’s achievements. In response to the COVID pandemic we’ve shifted to holding out Golden Gear awards online, making this a two night engagement!
