Report a Road Hazard

The San Diego County Bicycle Coalition knows how important smooth, safe pavement is for people biking. We also know San Diego County is big, with many different cities and jurisdictions. Each has its own point of contact for fixing road issues.

We’re here to make it easier for you to find the right place to report problems. If the contact you need isn’t listed here, please reach out to us directly and we’ll do our best to help you get connected.

What to Report

Use this page to report any surface hazard that makes riding unsafe, such as:

  • Potholes

  • Debris or broken glass in the street

  • Damaged or missing bikeway protection

  • Utility or construction crews blocking bike lanes without proper accommodation

How to Report

  • Be specific: Include the exact location (nearest address or cross streets) and describe the road condition.

  • Follow up: Keep track of your report and politely check back with city staff if you don’t see progress after a reasonable amount of time.

Note

These contacts are not for emergencies. If you’re in an emergency situation, please dial 911 right away.

Together, we can improve safety and make San Diego’s streets better for everyone who rides!
