On Sunday, families gathered at Pacific Beach Middle School for a free e-bike safety class honoring a 14-year-old student who was killed last month in a collision with a car while riding his e-bike. The San Diego County Bike Coalition joined Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer's office and local partners to host the event, where teens received free helmets and our Education Manager Kevin Baross walked families through e-bike rules, how to tell a street-legal e-bike from a moped or motorcycle, and how to ride with confidence. Education is one part of the answer, and we will keep pushing for the safe streets every young person in San Diego deserves.
