Road Ride Info:

An intermediate road ride led by staff from the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition through some of the most beautiful roads and bike trails near Downtown San Diego. Starting from Panama 66 in Balboa Park, we will descend Laurel Street to Harbor Drive, and then ride along the San Diego Bay to Point Loma. From there, we will climb up to Cabrillo National Monument where we’ll be rewarded for our efforts with sweeping views of San Diego Bay, Coronado, and Downtown San Diego. Then, we’ll descend back to Ocean Beach and ride along the San Diego river trail back to Old Town. Riders will then face the steepest climb of the day through Presidio Park, reaching the Hillcrest neighborhood at the top. Finally, we’ll cruise down SANDAG’s impressive new 4th Avenue separated bikeway and end our ride at Quartyard in the East Village.

This will be a relaxed pace road ride with stops for water, coffee, and bathrooms throughout. Riders should be prepared to ride twenty-five miles with 1,000 feet of climbing at approximately 14-16 miles per hour.

Please arrive with a bike you would be comfortable riding for twenty-five miles, a water bottle, a helmet, and everything you need to fix a flat tire.

New Infrastructure Ride info:

BikeSD will take you on an easy no-drop ride, highlighting some of San Diego’s most recently implemented urban bikeways such as Meade Ave, 30th St, Landis St, and highlighting our campaign to get protected bikeways on Park Blvd.
