Chula Vista Smart Cycling Session 2 Learn to safely ride with traffic on the road

Event duration: 9am-2:00pm
This is a great opportunity to learn how to ride your bike safely! League-Certified instructors will share their wealth of knowledge and make sure you leave feeling comfortable riding on the road and in traffic.
Course will cover:
– Proper bike and helmet fit
– Your legal rights and responsibilities
– Safety Tips for riding in traffic
– Improving your bike handling skills
– Emergency maneuvers
– Using public transit with your bike
Also get hands on training in:
– Flat tire repair secrets
– Adjustments
– Minor repairs
– Quick fixes
Classes are led by League of American Bicyclists Certified Instructors.
All participants will receive a helmet and bike lights.

This event is a part of Walk+Bike Chula Vista: The City of Chula Vista’s Recreation Department, together with local non-profits Circulate San Diego and the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition, has begun a new campaign designed to promote and encourage walking and biking throughout the City. This grant funded program is expected to culminate in an Open Streets Event in April 2017.
