May is National Bike Month, promoted by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated in communities from coast to coast. Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to give biking a try.
Our “Follow the Yellow Brick Bike Path” Bike Month Kick-Off Party launches our month-long celebration of #LifebyBike, inspired by our May 16th pitstop theme of “The Wizard of Oz.” Join us for group rides, fun events like “Bike to Anywhere” day, and lots of chances to win bike accessories.
Event Schedule:
5:00-6:00 pm Discover the best of what’s available at our limited selection of booths and vendors!
5:30 pm Meet up for a Community Bike Ride
5:45 pm Proclamation by Office of Council President Sean Elo-Rivera, City of San Diego
6:00 pm Roll out for Community Bike Ride. The bike ride will be 2-3 miles with little to no elevation gain
6:45 pm Return from Community Bike Ride & Park Bikes
7:00-7:45 pm Enjoy music, food, and festivities
