Black Birders Week: Bike and Bird Community Ride

June 1 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

FREE

Saddle up and spread your wings as we celebrate the beauty of birds and the joy of biking during Black Birders Week!

Our event kicks off at 9:00 am at the vibrant WorldBeat Cultural Center nestled in the heart of Balboa Park. As the sun begins its ascent, we’ll gather for a morning of exploration and community connection.

From 9:30 am to 11:00 am, gear up for an exhilarating Community Ride and Birding expedition through the scenic pathways of Balboa Park. Led by Licensed Cycling Instructors, this ride offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in urban nature while keeping an eye out for our feathered friends. Whether you’re an avid birder or a biking enthusiast, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Throughout the event, participants will have the opportunity to learn about bird conservation efforts, eco-friendly biking practices, and ways to promote diversity and inclusion in outdoor spaces. Together, we’ll celebrate the intersection of nature, community, and recreation.

So grab your helmet, binoculars, and sense of adventure, and join us for a memorable morning of biking, birding, and boundless fun at the Black Birders Week: Bike and Bird Community Ride!

Note: Please bring your own bike and helmet. This event is free and open to all ages and skill levels. Be sure to dress comfortably and bring plenty of water. We can’t wait to ride and bird with you!

Funding for this program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
