The Empire Bikes Back

We’re offering free bikes to students in Encanto who have taken a bicycle safety class with the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition in Fall 2020.

Would you or your parent/guardian like a free bicycle?  Do you attend one of these schools in  the Encanto Neighborhood?

  • Fulton K8
  • Kieller Leadership Academy
  • Horton Elementary
  • Morse HS
  • Lincoln HS

 

To be eligible you must complete: A virtual bike safety assembly and/or online bike safety modules by November  12th, 2020

1. Your school will organize a virtual iCommute Bike Safety Assembly. You can encourage them to register here: https://www.icommutesd.com/bike/walkriderolltoschool.aspx

2. Your school will offer the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition’s online bike safety modules. These are a series of 3 short online modules.

*By filling out this form you are putting your name in the drawing to receive a free bicycle, helmet and bike safety gear. Only 35 kids bikes are available, so not everyone who registers will receive a bicycle. Names will be drawn randomly on November 11th at 5pm. Winners will be contacted by phone and/or email on November 12th and 13th.


THE BIKE GIVEAWAY:

If you are selected, you and your parent/guardian will be invited to come pick up your bicycles on November 14th and 15th from the Jacob’s Center in Encanto.

There are 35 kids bikes of varying sizes and 35+ adult-size bikes available. Everyone who receives a bicycle will also get a free helmet, lock and set of bike lights as well as other bike safety gear.
