“Our Neighbor was Killed Here” Postering Day

March 18, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am

We’re teaming up with Families for Safe Streets San Diego to spread awareness of the epidemic of fatal traffic crashes on San Diego’s streets. Join us to hang up posters at all of the places where bicyclists and pedestrians were killed from 2014 to 2021.

We’ll meet at the Bike Coalition Office at 9am to pick up posters and lists of crash sites, then spread around the City in teams of two to hang up posters at the sites of fatal crashes. We’ll give you a list of ten locations to hang up posters when you arrive, and we can pair you up with someone else if you come alone. Distributing posters by car is acceptable, but riding a bike would be more fun.

These posters will direct viewers to a page on our website where they’ll be able to quickly and easily email Mayor Todd Gloria and the City Council to demand more funding for traffic safety. If you haven’t already, send an email yourself!

Here’s an example of the posters we’ll be spreading around town. We hope you’ll join us!
